Responsibilities will include having a prepared introit, offering anthem,doxology and postlude as well as playing 2-3 hymn (which are chosen by the pastor). The pianist will not accompany the choir.
Pay is commensurate with experience.

First United Methodist Church is hiring two nursery workers for our Sunday church nursery. The job description is below. The pay is $10/hour. To apply, send a resume with contact information to [email protected] or bring it to the church office.
Purpose: To provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children while at our church.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which includes: feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, hold, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play, and prayer. Universal precautions should always be used while changing diapers.
- Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers.
- Arrive 30 minutes prior to morning service. Childcare hours include every Sunday 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. These hours are subject to change. You are expected to work all Sundays even if it falls on a holiday. The opportunity for extra work will be announced at least 4 weeks prior to the event. You will have the option to work other church events, i.e. Easter, Christmas, and Vacation Bible School. There will always be services on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Christmas Eve.
- Stay until the children are secured with a responsible adult named on the nursery sign-in form.
- In the event of an emergency, notify the parent via cell phone number on the sign-in form.
- Straighten the room and clean toys before leaving. All toys that have had contact with saliva will require special attention. A sanitizing solution will be available to use in the nursery.
- Attend an evaluation after a 90 day probationary period, after 6 months, and thereafter annually.
- Communicate in advance, by phone to the nursery coordinator: 1) any planned absences with an advance two week notice, or 2) any unplanned absences at least two hours prior to the shift.
- Notify the nursery coordinator of any nursery supply needs.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Satisfactory completion of background check
- Satisfactory completion of CPR training for infants and children suggested
- Three references
- Must have own transportation
Termination Policy:
- There will be a 90 day probationary period where either party may terminate employment without cause. Beyond this a two week notice is expected.
- Dependability is essential. Tardiness and excessive absences cannot be tolerated and will result in termination of employment.

To create a cooperative working environment, we will:
- Immediately seek to rectify any problems that may arise.
- Allow nursery workers to take grievances to the SPRC or Pastor.
- Welcome suggestions of how to improve our nursery.
- Compensate fairly.
- Provide an appropriately furnished nursery including rocking chairs, table and chairs, cribs, changing area, toys, and supplies.
